Simple Dengue IgG/IgM/NS1 Combo Detect Kit

The Dengue NS1/IgG/IgM Combo kit, available at PathKits, is a rapid, in-vitro immunochromatographic assay specifically designed to detect both the dengue virus NS1 antigen and IgG/IgM antibodies against the dengue virus in human serum, plasma, or whole blood. This rapid test consists of two separate test devices: the Dengue NS1 Ag test and the Dengue IgG/IgM test. For comprehensive Dengue detection options, PathKits offers the Dengue test kit, Dengue Combo Rapid Test Cassette, and Dengue IgG/IgM/NS1 Combo test Kit.

Dengue fever is an acute illness caused by an infection of dengue viruses (DENV 1 to 4). It is a mosquito-borne viral disease occurring in the areas of tropical Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas. The virus is transmitted by mosquitoes of the daytime-biting Stegomyia family, principally female mosquito species Aedes aegypti and, less commonly, Aedes albopictus. An estimated 100 million cases of dengue fever and 250,000 cases of life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever occur annually on a worldwide basis. Rapid and reliable tests for primary and secondary infections of dengue are essential for patient management. Primary dengue infection is associated with mild to high fever, headache, muscle pain and skin rash. Serological detection is a common method for the diagnosis of infection with dengue viruses. Anti-dengue virus IgM starts to appear 3 days after initial exposure and remains in circulation for about 30-60 days. Anti-dengue virus IgG rises around 7 days, peaks at 2-3 weeks and persists for the duration of life4-6. Detection of antigens, such as dengue NS1, released during virus replication in the infected patient show very promising results; it enables diagnosis from the first day after the onset of fever up to day 9 once the clinical phase of the disease is over, thus, allowing early detection and prompt treatment. The SIMPLE Dengue NS1/IgG/IgM Combo RAPID Test detects anti-dengue virus IgG and IgM and circulating dengue NS1 antigen (DEN1, 2, 3, 4) in human serum, plasma or whole blood. It can be performed within 20-25 minutes by minimally skilled personnel and without the use of laboratory equipment.

FAQs

The Dengue IgG/IgM/NS1 Combo Test Kit is a comprehensive test that detects both current and past Dengue infections. It identifies:

  • NS1 antigen: Indicating an active Dengue infection.
  • IgM antibodies: Present during the early stages (up to 30 days) of a recent or current Dengue infection
  • IgG antibodies: Indicating a past Dengue infection and potential immunity.

Regular Dengue test kits might focus solely on detecting the NS1 antigen (active infection) or IgM antibodies (recent infection). This combo kit provides a more detailed picture of your Dengue status.

This test is suitable for individuals experiencing Dengue symptoms like fever, headache, rash, or muscle pain. It can also be helpful for those who suspect a past Dengue infection.

This combo kit offers several advantages:

  • Comprehensive diagnosis: Detects current and past infections in a single test.
  • Early detection: Identifies the NS1 antigen during the first few days of infection.
  • Fast results: Delivers results within 10-20 minutes.

Similar to other rapid test kits, it uses a blood sample that reacts with specific antibodies on a test strip. The presence or absence of NS1 antigen and specific antibodies determines the results.

A positive result for NS1 antigen indicates a current infection. The presence of IgM antibodies suggests a recent or current infection, while IgG antibodies point towards a past infection. It's crucial to consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and management based on your specific results.
